Mark 11:25 “Forgiveness is ‘THE’ Way!”
“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Life is hard. We get hurt and we want to hurt back. Sometimes we get hurt and we react in a way that just puts us in a position to get hurt even worse. God never promised us a “rose garden.” In fact, after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden apple, God said life would always be a challenge. God also says if we follow His ways, we’ll be better protected, like we’re behind the ultimate Bodyguard. When we want to “party down or hang loose” and we sneak away from the “Bodyguard’s protection,” really bad crap happens!
We forget the terrible pain and hard times that come when we don’t stay close to our Protector, or like in nature, when the baby gets away from the protective mother, they usually get eaten! The devil is the total ultimate loser. He wants to get you to slip up, and when you do, he’ll whisper in your ear “Remember when you... See you’re no good anyway... Just forget your Bodyguard, let your hair down and PARTY!!” What is the result of listening to the devil? It’s always the same; he allows evil to take advantage of us!!
Think of the devil’s BS like a hot coal in your hand. Whenever that evil voice is whispering to you, think of a burning hot coal and drop the “hot coal” thought quickly so you don’t get burned! Devil... Temptation... Self-esteem attack... Drop the thought like a hot coal; stop the pain by dropping the hellish thought. Then remember, God forgives you. You are NOT those bad old evil actions. You’re a new person in Christ, and He’s the biggest, baddest Bodyguard in the universe. He can kick the crap out of the devil and any of his evil buddies. God says, “Leave the revenge, payback and judgment to Me. I can handle it way better than you anyway. Have a little FAITH. What I say, I mean! I’m God!!!”
So instead of anger that gives you ulcers and stress, feel sorry for those evil losers that do you wrong. God has them by the soul; the soul He’s going to send to hell to burn forever if they don’t truly repent for their evil actions. Our job is to forgive, like our Father forgives us. God is the Bodyguard and Judge. Let Him handle it!!
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
