Psalms 31:23-24 “Love The Lord!”
Love the Lord, all His saints! The Lord preserves the faithful, but the proud He pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
The Psalmist gave us a preview of Jesus’ greatest commandment, “Love God with all your heart!” Then, we are reminded that if we’re faithful, we are assured of God’s preservation, and we can likely interpret that as temporal and eternal protection. Love God and live under His protective wing. That’s a promise each of us needs in a dangerous and volatile world, huh? We have that armor of God to protect us, thank God for that!!
Once again, the Psalmist warns us of being too cocky and proud. We are warned to remember the proud will get paid back in full by a God who doesn’t mince words about our need to be humble! Besides, who are we to be cocky? God made us all the same. There’s no better or worse human in God’s eyes. There’s just saved or lost!
And, the final coaching is to be strong and take heart. You’re God’s wingman, and He has your back! As long as you’re faithful, God is the ultimate Protector. You don’t have to fear anything or anyone because God controls everything! If you face pain or adversity, there’s a lesson God wants you to learn. When bad things happen, you have to know 100% that God has a purpose for everything. We just have to ask Him and listen, learn and grow in His way.
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
