Romans 8:28 “God Works for YOUR Good!”

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Bad things happen…9/11, emergency surgery, the death of a child, and God says all things work for the good of those who love God?? Sometimes it’s hard to understand what God says and agree with it as the inspired Word of God, isn’t it? But, God makes it clear that we are human, and there are things we simply will not understand while we are human on earth. But in heaven, He says He’ll reveal everything to us; we’ll have perfect knowledge. When you can’t understand something in the Bible, have faith that you’ll understand it as your wisdom grows or when you get to heaven.

In the meantime, God clearly tells you, if you trust him and follow him, He will MAKE things work for your good!! Maybe you need challenges today to toughen you up to be a better leader tomorrow. Just like building a muscle, you can’t be a strong leader if you don’t exercise your ability to get knocked down and get back up to keep going. That’s building mental toughness and tenacity.

Maybe that horribly sad death of a child is God’s way of focusing you on the need to advocate for child safety! Maybe that stupid thing you did today is God’s way of getting your conscience to develop now, before you’re leading thousands of people, when the embarrassment would do so much more damage!

Many times you won’t understand how God is making challenges work for your good, but you just have to remember, “All things are working together for good in my life. I just have to trust God and figure out how this challenge is going to make me a better person.” It’s pretty awesome to know for a fact God is guiding your life for good. I can’t think of anyone better to have your back, can you??

A personal message...

“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
