James 1:2-3“Enjoy Challenges??”
Consider it pure joy, My brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Sometimes, the lessons and advice in the Bible hit really close to home, don’t they? There seems to be more trials in our lives than ever before, doesn’t there? But, God says the pressures and trials of life develop perseverance and strength. You are like that beautiful diamond; it’s the pressure that ultimately brings out the best in you!
Ever since Adam and Eve ate the apple, God said life would be hard. That’s why we have to thank God for every day. Every day we aren’t eternally condemned is a great day for eternal hope! Since Jesus has provided you a way to guarantee ultimate success in life, the rest become details and minor annoyances. It won’t feel minor when you’re in the middle of the pressure, but always remember the goal line that matters, (eternity in heaven) and keep a perspective when the heat is on!
Facing trials is pure joy. God says so, and that means it’s a fact. So, next time you’re ready to blow a gasket from the pressure and trials of life, just say to yourself, “facing trials are pure joy, and I’m a diamond in the making!!” Then, find the best possible solution and start making the situation better. As the comedians say, “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging!” Have faith that standing strong and doing what’s right will help you persevere, survive the test and come out shining on the other end!
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
