1 Peter 5:6 “You Be You”
Be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s hand is on you; He’ll promote you at the right time.
God says to be content with who we are and not to put on airs. We’re told to be content with how God made us. He doesn’t make any junk! We are just perfect the way we are! No need to second guess God about how He made us. We are made the way God wants us to be. His hand is on us! How cool is it to know God has our fate in His hands? If anyone on this earth tries to judge us or put us down, smile and remember God has your back! He’s the only judgment you care about!!
On the other hand, we aren’t better than any other soul on this earth. While it’s human nature to focus on our “importance,” God reminds us we aren’t a big deal, and we certainly shouldn’t be full of ourselves, nor look down on or judge others. It is important to grow your self-esteem and your confidence. It’s equally important to not let yourself get “cocky” or “put on airs.”
Be patient for God to do His work and grow you in His time. Be patient and enjoy the life you’re blessed with one day at a time. Make today fun and be happy! When you learn confident humility, when you learn to focus on the needs of other’s rather than yourself, when you learn to be a good steward, when God is ready, He’ll promote you! So, stay tuned and stay thankful God is in control and is on your side.
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
