Romans 9:20 “Who Are You?”
But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ ”
When you hear people putting down God or God’s Word, remember what is happening. The person is questioning the Creator of the World, the God who made everything and everyone. Given that God gave us free choice, we understand each person has the choice to bad mouth God, but you need to feel very sorry for that person. Burning in hell forever and ever is a terrible price to pay for anyone!
Even the simplest questions are wrong. “Hey God, why did you make my nose so big… make me so short… make me so…” STOP! God made you just the way you are, and we know He had a purpose for everything. It is NOT our place to question God! Nada! Not even a little!! When that young person dies, God has a reason. It may be painful beyond belief, but it’s God’s plan, and we’re just along for the eternal ride. So respect God’s authority, and wait until the wise reasons are revealed to you!
Always remember that God’s Word is our guide book. It shows us what is right and wrong, regardless of what the devil tries to do, making jokes, belittling us for being “old fashioned” or trying to attack our faithfulness; it doesn’t matter. We know the end of the story. God wins; the devil is crushed, and all the evil goes to hell, while those who simply listen to God get to spend eternity in heaven! Don’t get mad at the “aggressive spewers of sinful rhetoric” of the world, see them for what they are, sad pathetic people who are going straight to hell. Then, say a prayer they find God and become another one of those many stories where people find the truth before it’s too late!
When you hear someone railing against God, you can be sure the motivation is to rationalize some form of bad behavior because they don’t want to be “judged” by God. Sorry, the Big Guy provides Life’s Rule Book; we just are blessed enough to play His game for a few years on earth and then eternity forever. Who are we to argue with God??
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
