Galatians 3:26 “A Father’s Son”
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
What does it mean to be a “son?”
Well, there’s a Father’s unconditional love. No matter what a son does, the dad will always love him. Even when the son acts like a demon, the father still loves him, not his actions. When a daughter disrespects her father, the father still loves her. When a son curses his father, the father still loves him.
There’s being provided for. You get everything taken care of when you’re too small and immature to do things by yourself. You get everything given to you, from food, shelter and clothing, to birthday and Christmas gifts, or even a family inheritance that passes from generation to generation.
There’s teaching you right and wrong. It’s a father setting limits. It’s a father telling you how to protect yourself from harm. It’s a father punishing you when you need correction. It’s a father rewarding good behavior. It’s a father modeling the right way to do things. It’s a father coaching you on how to think and act.
There’s your father’s pride at your development. It’s a father’s pride at the child’s progress. It’s the father’s pride at the hard work and best effort. It’s the father’s pride when a child gives the best effort they can. It’s the father’s pride when a child fails miserably, but gets up and finds a solution to the situation. It’s a father’s pride when a child achieves a goal they’ve worked hard to achieve. It’s a father’s pride when a child screws up, then learns a lesson and stops making the same mistakes. It’s a father’s pride when a child finds their real passion in life.
We are sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ. You think earthly fathers do good for their sons? It can’t hold a candle to the blessings God can provide. You can take that to the eternal bank!
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
