Joshua 10:25 “Are You Tough?”
Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.”
Strength is not power; its being kind to someone who can never pay you back.
Strength is not physical prowess; it’s using your ability to help a widow clean her gutters or carry her groceries.
Strength is not power over another person; it is being a humble leader, who helps those they lead get the credit and praise.
Strength is not fighting a person and knocking them out; strength is avoiding any place that such evil is required.
Strength is gentleness at all times, until the time to be strong is at hand; then, be a vicious warrior for good. God will be with you.
Courage is not the absence of fear and anticipation of danger. Courage is doing the right thing even as you feel the fear.
Courage is getting up and starting over after a failure. In the first moment, it’s a ton of weight to move, but in a few days, the new opportunity realized from learning a lesson from the fall makes you stronger, smarter and more resilient.
Courage is getting up and holding your head high after a humiliation. In the moment, nothing crushes like humiliation. When you get up, brush yourself off and learn a lesson that won’t be repeated; you’re a stronger person as a result. Once you resolve to forget the event and hand it to God, it’s over and done. Period!
Courage is doing what is not popular, but what is right in God’s eyes. You may face scorn and even insults, but the angels will be placing the Medal of Honor on you as you courageously and proudly stand with the whole armor of God.
Do not fear anything but God, NOTHING! Be strong and courageous, like the leader you are today!!
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
