Isaiah 41:10 “Do Not Fear!”
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
The emotion of fear can be very real. Sometimes, when you’re low on sleep or feeling physically tired and weak, fear can be a powerful emotion. There are even stories of people being literally ‘scared to death,’ when their stress triggers, for instance, a heart attack. But, if you are a person of faith, you have built-in courage that people really don’t understand. You don’t fear things because you know your infinite Creator is your Wingman, and with God in your corner, it really is easy to dump fear where it belongs, in the trash heap of “False Expectations As Reality” pile, where those fears end up 99.99% of the time. Why is it we worry so much about things that almost never happen? Next time you begin to get worked up, think about how unlikely it is that what you fear will come to pass. Instead, think about the solution you want to make sure happens. Then, get to work with positive action and watch the focus change!
In that .01% situation, where the situation is going to create a real challenge, you listen to God right here, “Don’t fear, I’m with you!” God says not to be confused. He is the Man, and He’ll make sure you have the strength and help you need exactly when you need it. I don’t know about you, but if I’m in a tough spot, I want the Holy Spirit controlling my tongue, my physical abilities and my thoughts...like the song says, “Jesus take the wheel!” And isn’t that the best plan anyway…Here you go God, you get this one!
Ultimately, even if the situation is so bad that death might be imminent, guess what? God is with you, and if it is time to punch that ticket to heaven, then let’s make sure the conductor is our Lord and Savior at that moment!! Just visualize yourself in His right hand and relax, because God is totally in control, and when it’s your time, it’s God that will help you make the transition to His heavenly place. In the meantime, have no fear whatsoever because you have God in control of everything that happens. DO NOT FEAR!
A personal message...
“These devotions were written to my four children, Christian, Mike, Allison and Alex. By the kids allowing these to be shared publicly, our hope is that the devotions will make a positive and eternal difference in the lives of other young people as they mature. Enjoy. Rick Isaacson”
